snagJWST

A small tool for pulling calibrated James Webb Space Telescope observations — name an object, pick an observation, get science-ready data.

A compact Python tool for grabbing real James Webb Space Telescope data without wading through archive UIs: run the script, name an object (say, NGC 3132), pick from a list of matching JWST observations, and it downloads the data — pre-filtered to calibration level 3, so what lands on disk is science-ready product rather than raw detector frames.

Written for the simple joy of having actual JWST imagery on my own machine, and a nice little exercise in taming a big institutional archive API down to a two-question CLI.

Python, MAST/astroquery.
